Senior Director - Multi-Physics, Scale and Fidelity Predictive Modeling

Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a multidisciplinary Modeling & Simulation team (MD, CFD, FEA, multiscale/multiphysics coupling, UQ, surrogate/multifidelity modeling).
- Develop and deploy predictive models to elucidate governing physics, quantify risk, and inform device architectures, formulation strategies, and delivery system designs across the R&D lifecycle.
- Establish a roadmap for digital twins, reduced-order models, operator learning/PINNs, Bayesian calibration, and MDO; improve accuracy, speed, and robustness.
- Integrate SciML/AI with physics to build hybrid models and multifidelity frameworks that accelerate exploration, optimization, and decision-making.
- Scale simulations on HPC/GPU clusters and cloud; apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, reproducibility).
- Partner with engineering, device design, materials, formulation, human factors, clinical, and quality to align modeling with milestones, risk assessments, and regulatory strategy.
- Mentor and develop early-career scientists and engineers.
- Publish/present and lead external collaborations to shape the external agenda.

Basic Requirements:
- PhD in computational physics/biophysics/biomechanics, chemistry, or related engineering; 10+ years relevant experience.
- Expert proficiency in MD, CFD, or FEA (and foundational exposure to others), including validation and deployment on complex real-world systems.
- Demonstrated physics-based methods across scales (molecular to continuum).
- Strong communication skills and record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Growth mindset and cross-disciplinary curiosity.

Additional Preferences:
- HPC proficiency (MPI, GPU/CUDA, job schedulers, profiling/optimization).
- Experience with ASME V&V 40/model risk classification; V&V/regulatory familiarity.
- Hands-on tools (MD, CFD, FEA/multiphysics; Python/C/C++/MATLAB/Julia; CUDA/OpenMP; Slurm; Azure/AWS; Git/CI/CD; ML frameworks).
