Senior Director, Medical Writing

Role: Senior Director, Medical and Scientific Writing at Annexon Biosciences, responsible for leading the development of critical scientific and regulatory documents supporting late-stage clinical programs in neuroinflammatory diseases, including Guillain-Barré syndrome, Huntington’s disease, and geographic atrophy. Responsibilities: oversee all aspects of medical writing, including protocols, INDs, CSRs, safety reports, and research summaries; analyze and interpret clinical and non-clinical data; develop strategy and messaging; build and maintain writing infrastructure, templates, and standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with regulatory standards. Requirements: Bachelor’s/Master’s or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline with at least 10 years of scientific, medical, or technical writing experience, ideally within biotech or pharma; proven track record in producing high-quality documents; strong ability to translate complex data into clear narratives; excellent collaboration, project management, and attention to detail; proficiency with key software tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint, etc.). Preferred: experience in neurodegenerative or autoimmune therapeutics, regulatory compliance (ICH/FDA/EMEA), and infrastructure development. High-value: focus on clinical and regulatory documentation for late-stage development, close cross-functional collaboration, and building scalable writing processes. Location: hybrid, based in Brisbane, CA with regular onsite work.
