About The Role
- Leads Neurocrine’s national account team focused on payers, PBMs, and health plans.
- Secures and maintains optimal product coverage and access across Commercial, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid.
- Develops and executes customer strategies to build relationships with national managed care accounts and affiliates, regional accounts, and state Medicaid programs.
- Serves on the Market Access Account Management team; collaborates to develop pricing and contracting strategies for product launches and educates the organization on managed markets issues.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
- Establishes Neurocrine as a leader via strong payer and key customer relationships.
- Develops customer account strategies, segmentation, prioritization, and tactical account plans based on formulary review processes, coverage policies, and utilization controls.
- Leads and manages the payer account team (performance goals/metrics, execution oversight, individual development support).
- Builds long-term partnerships with National Managed Care Accounts and affiliates, regional accounts, and State Medicaid.
- Develops, negotiates, and implements contracts to support brand strategies and secure optimal product access.
- Partners with marketing and field sales leadership to create pull-through programs that maximize appropriate utilization and market opportunity.
- Coordinates pull-through activities with field sales to address access opportunities/challenges and drive ROI.
- Provides in-depth account performance analysis and advises on market trends, competitive activity, and business opportunities.
- Communicates regularly with senior management; presents payer outlook at business reviews and sales meetings.
- Partners with Medical Affairs and HEOR to develop clinical/financial value stories and evaluate pricing/contract strategies.
- Identifies/monitors/analyzes healthcare and public policy trends; makes recommendations.

Requirements
- BS/BA in life sciences, finance/accounting, or related field + 15+ years medical life science industry experience with strong national/regional account management OR
- Master’s degree + 13+ years similar experience OR
- PhD + 10+ years similar experience and extensive leadership experience.
- Trusted advisor; provides strategy/vision with company-wide impact.
- Strong track record of wins across National Payers, Regional Payers, PBMs, State Medicaid, and Medicare Part D.
- Strong relationships and access to decision makers at National Payer plans and PBMs.
- Proven ability to build, manage, and lead account teams; mastery of account strategy and alignment.
- Mastery of pricing and contract strategy for commercial, PBM, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid.
- Pull-through strategy/execution with ability to partner with field sales to drive demand.
- Strong commercialization/launch experience with retail and specialty pharmaceuticals (preferably within CNS).
- Working knowledge of legal/regulatory/compliance environment for pharmaceutical promotion/communications in Managed Markets.
- Expert understanding of pricing, government payers, and specialty pharmaceutical markets.
- Excellent analytical skills; strong problem-solving.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and written/verbal communication.
- Demonstrated influence/leadership; team player/coach able to work strategic and tactical levels.
- Experience with large scale payers (managed care, PBMs, government programs).

- Annual base salary: $235,300.00–$321,000.00.
