Role Summary
The Senior Director of IT Data Management – G&A is a leadership role responsible for leading the data aspects of IT platforms and services for G&A Data Management (MDM), Data Integration, Reporting, BI platforms, ERP and HCM technologies including Oracle and Workday. This role enables G&A teams to make informed decisions, improve relationships with customers, payers, and patients; strengthen product performance; and provide a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Provide technology expertise and deliver and deploy global data platform solutions for ERP (Oracle) and HCM (Workday) systems, including boundary systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with G&A Teams, ERP and HCM business owners, and other IT functions.
- Manage relationships with customers horizontally and vertically through the customer organization.
- Make Data the strategic enabler for all global business teams in Finance, HCM, and Procurement, including touchpoints with Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
- Provide G&A Business, Reporting, Data & Analytics, ERP (Oracle), and HCM (Workday) expertise and meet regularly with business owners.
- Assist customers in developing business vision and strategy, including ERP and HCM transformation initiatives, with a unified Global Reporting and Data Strategy focusing on Data Quality, Master Data Management, Predictive Analytics, and cloud migration.
- Establish data architecture principles and frameworks for build versus buy decisions, entitlement, and data lineage, aligning with business and IT strategy.
- Develop and implement G&A Data and Reporting delivery and support services, including oversight of Project Management for Oracle and Workday implementations.
- Interact with internal IT functions to maintain operational excellence across Oracle and Workday platforms.
- Align with corporate technology changes through communication and collaboration, especially for Oracle and Workday upgrades or migrations.
- Provide input to long-range strategic plans, IT Roadmap and project portfolio, including Oracle and Workday initiatives.
- Ensure developed roadmap and portfolio meet customer needs and budget.
- Develop IT business cases, charters and roadmaps for assigned areas, including Oracle and Workday.
- Coordinate resources and timelines with Portfolio Manager and Technical Architects and other Delivery teams.
Qualifications
- Experience with multiple and diverse application environments across G&A functions (e.g., accounting, finance, HR, legal, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, business development).
- Highly motivated, results-oriented with strong relationship-building, communication, and project/financial/management skills; broad knowledge of data-centric technologies.
- Experience managing remote teams, indirect/direct reports, and contingent resources.
- BA/BS required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of BRM & relevant IT experience; minimum 3 years in G&A IT with pharmaceutica/biotech/medical device environment.
- 8+ years in G&A Data Management (MDM), Data Integration, Data Lakes, BI platforms; experience with ERP (Oracle) and HCM (Workday); Oracle Fusion Analytics and related tools a plus.
- Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical business processes and systems (Oracle and Workday).
- Strong data governance, data quality frameworks, and data lineage expertise for transparency and compliance.
- Experience with AI-driven analytics, machine learning models, and automation tools to enhance insights and efficiency.
- Experience supporting/leading commercial data, analytics, ERP (Oracle), and HCM (Workday) organizations a plus.
