Role Summary
Senior Director - International Business Unit (IBU) Procurement – Counsel. This role partners with Lilly’s IBU Procurement teams to provide legal and business advisory services across international operations, with an emphasis on value creation, risk mitigation, and process and technology infrastructure. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, advise internal clients and leadership, and help drive system implementations to support a global procurement network.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and resolving highly complex legal issues in IBU procurement and related products and professional services space.
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements (including transactional, governance-related, and services-focused agreements), building internal consensus, and driving successful business outcomes in situations of ambiguity.
- Providing clear advice to internal clients and legal leadership, ensuring that guidance maximizes the performance of Lilly’s IBU procurement functions and supporting infrastructure.
- Effectively communicating and translating complex technical, performance, and regulatory issues into understandable terms, recommending strategic and novel solutions.
- Serving as the recognized source for a detailed and strategic understanding of Lilly’s relationships in the IBU procurement and related products and services spaces; and
- Driving system/process implementation and adoption (e.g., CLM).
Qualifications
- Required: Admission to the bar in at least one of the fifty states.
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of legal experience related to the drafting, review, and negotiation of sophisticated transactions (preferably in the pharmaceutical or international business space), either practicing at a law firm or in-house, or a combination.
- Required: Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide sponsorship for work authorization or visas for this role.

Education
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
