Role Summary
Senior Director, Insights & Analytics (I&A) - Pulmonology leads a high-performing I&A team to generate actionable insights from a broad set of sources to inform business decisions. The role reports to the Executive Director, I&A (Immunology) within the Commercial Strategy and Insights and Analytics (CSI&A) department and serves as a strategic advisor to the VP, Pulmonology. It also partners with other leaders to grow and develop talent within the CSI&A I&A (Immunology) team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the I&A Pulmonology team in providing business analytics, customer insights and competitive intelligence to address all commercialization needs.
- Set the strategic I&A direction that aligns with overarching Pulmonology priorities and helps drive launch excellence.
- Develop innovative solutions and a design-thinking approach aligned with strategies for the pulmonology business.
- Develop people from both functional skills and leadership perspectives, with the goal of growing internal talent.
- Assess and implement novel methodologies and frameworks to garner meaningful insights to inform business decisions in a manner that keeps pace with the Pulmonology operating environment; and to enhance brand differentiation and impact.
- Lead efforts to identify and crystalize insights that inform strategic plans for Pulmonology.
- Collaborate with the Pulmonology CBU and other members of senior leadership to identify, predict and inform business decisions relating to the competitive outlook for Pulmonology, and any pipeline Immunology (Pulmonology) medicines.
- Develop and maintain a mutually beneficial partnership with CBU stakeholders; ensure insight generation and feedback are embraced; balance project rigor, timelines and ability to influence decisions.
- Coordinate alignment with Alliance counterparts and stakeholders on all insights and analytics agendas.
- Work with other CSI&A leaders to standardize adoption of capabilities such as marketing mix, promotional optimization, data science, market structure analysis, patient/treatment flow modeling, analog modeling and ML/AI methodologies across I&A.
- Proactively communicate with the Pulmonology CBUs and provide strategic recommendations and insights as well as anticipated future needs.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, I&A Immunology, construct and deliver integrated business reviews and I&A summary overviews with leadership from Pulmonology and CSI&A.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree; 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience with increasing accountability; prior experience with market-leading brands required; immunology-specific experience is desired.
- Required: Functional expertise in business analytics, HCP consumer/patient insights, primary research methods, analog forecast development and competitive intelligence.
- Required: Prior experience managing I&A groups with responsibility for analytics, HCP consumer/patient insights, market access analytics, and competitive intelligence.
- Required: Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment, as it relates to commercialization in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
- Required: Knowledge of data industry standards.
- Required: Proven ability to influence, communicate and negotiate with all levels of management across functional and business unit boundaries.
- Required: Extensive experience with managing numerous projects concurrently against stringent deadlines.
- Required: Prior experience working with I&A projects and initiatives where a balance between project rigor and timeliness was needed.
- Required: Ability to think strategy to execution, with hands-on experience in implementing large initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Required: Expertise in data visualization and data storytelling.
- Required: Strong interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to resolve conflict, drive consensus and work across multiple departments.
- Required: Strong organizational, project management, influencing and change management skills.
- Required: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently, while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Preferred: Immunology-specific experience.
- Preferred: Alliance partnership experience.
- Preferred: Masterโs degree.
