Role Summary
Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner for the Global Commercial Strategy and Operations (GCSO) organization. Partners with senior business leaders to translate objectives into workforce strategies for a ~260-person global commercial function spanning strategy, decision sciences, and operations. Primary support to the Senior VP, GCSO and VP-level leadership, with a key role in planning and delivering HR programs and services. Based in Foster City, CA.
Responsibilities
- Organizational Development: Partner with clients to plan and implement workforce strategies, drive organizational effectiveness, and manage change.
- Strategic Advisor: Act as an integrated business partner, advising leaders on operating model development, organization structure, resource plans, and processes to align with product team deliverables.
- Talent Acquisition, Assessment and Development: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Global Mobility to attract, develop, and retain talent; analyze data to improve performance, retention, engagement, and experience; drive talent management, development planning, and succession planning.
- Team Effectiveness: Support high-performing teams through chartering, feedback loops, and clarity of roles and responsibilities.
- Talent Development & Inclusion: Develop leadership and manager capability; support career development and embed Inclusion & Diversity strategies.
- HR Programs & Services: Ensure seamless delivery of enterprise HR programs; identify needs and deliver HR programs or strategies; develop and deliver HR presentations as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: MS/MA with 12+ years in Human Resources; or BS/BA with 14+ years in Human Resources; or High School diploma with 18+ years in Human Resources.
- Preferred: BS/BA with emphasis in HR or Business; Masterโs degree preferred.
- Preferred: 8+ years of HR business partner experience with in-depth HR practices across functions; strong strategic partnership experience with senior executives; experience in life sciences, healthcare, or pharma/biotech.
- Preferred: Ability to translate business objectives into talent priorities; strong leadership and inclusion focus; excellent communication and conflict management skills; knowledge of employment laws and policies; model for Gilead core values and People Leader Accountabilities.
Education
- BS or BA degree (preferred with emphasis in HR or Business); Masterโs degree preferred.
