Senior Director, Health Answers by Pfizer Tech Lead

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Technical Director to join our Health Answers by Pfizer team. This role will be the tech lead on Health Answers by Pfizer and will work directly with the VP of Technology, solution delivery leads, and delivery teams to architect new features, update existing features, and determine technology strategies. The role requires forward-thinking technical vision, leadership in Generative AI, and deep software development expertise.

Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy: Anticipate upcoming technical needs, bring appropriate technical approaches, and communicate the technical strategy effectively to stakeholders and delivery teams.
• High Level Architecture: Lead architecture for a visible consumer product; develop high-level designs describing current and future state of the technical stack and drive platform decisions.
• Vendor Management: Act as the face to multiple vendors; negotiate contracts and SOWs and procure technology to meet team needs.
• Program Leadership: Communicate technology strategy to pilots and stakeholders; explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences; collaborate with Product Lead and Pilot in Command; problem-solve on the fly.
• Innovative Thinking: Bring novel solutions; champion out-of-the-box ideas; maintain deep familiarity with Generative AI, AI agents, microservices, and large-scale cloud architecture.
• Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery management function and teams; manage delivery vendors; ensure uptime of Health Answers by Pfizer across underlying platforms (AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, Adobe, etc.) and monitoring solutions (e.g., Dynatrace).
• Product Uptime: Work with on-call support during outages and maintain continuous operational reliability.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field with at least 12 years of applicable experience; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Required: Proven experience in software development, large-scale applications, Generative AI, or related field; experience in consumer digital products and technical project management is highly desirable.
• Required: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable insights.
• Required: Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Required: Strong proficiency in software development; expert in AWS-centric solutions architecture; deep Generative AI experience within software applications.
• Required: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams; experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Required: Up-to-date knowledge of Generative AI trends; understanding of the consumer health and wellness or healthcare industry is a plus.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree.

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related field (minimum 12 years of applicable experience).
