Position Summary

The role of the Sr. Director, Global Forecasting will own all global forecasts for the portfolio of launch ready/in-line products. This includes developing a comprehensive forecasting methodology, integrating primary market research results with other data analysis to derive key insights that inform the design, development, oversight and delivery of the global forecast, including country specific P&L scenarios. This person will be an integral partner to the business operations, including Commercial, Corporate Strategy, Finance, and Manufacturing.

Key components to this role will include developing and refreshing forecasts, investigating, securing and interpreting data, developing and monitoring launch OKRs, reporting results, highlighting issues, and communicating findings to leadership.

The position may be remote based and will report directly to the Vice President, Commercial Operations.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of evidence-based, global forecast scenarios in driving strategic decisions.
  • Carry out base-case and scenario analyses (TPPโ€™s, launch year, market share, price, sales ramp, etc.) to support decision making by key partners and stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure inputs and assumptions are captured and documented in global forecasts, drive alignment on financial projections, and secure approval from senior and executive leadership.
  • Ensure that global forecasts address the impact of market dynamics and critical events, are logically designed and well documented.
  • Identify key business issues that impact short-term and long-range product and market forecasts; clearly and pro-actively surface these issues.
  • Operationalize internal forecasting governance, quality control and processes. Possess a strong understanding of industry secondary data and syndicated sources and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • In close collaboration with Finance and Supply Chain, develop revenue and supply/demand forecasts in support of financial planning processes, i.e., Operating Reviews and budgeting processes.
  • Contribute to pro forma, country specific P&L deliverables and provide input into go/no-go decisions.
  • Leverage anonymized patient data in conjunction with Rx, Sales, Reference, and other data to prepare patient, outcomes, treatment, sales, managed markets, and promotion insights. Use these tailored insights to produce consistent overviews of team, product, and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with market research lead to conduct market research studies ensuring that perspectives of all team members and partners are considered in crafting the content of discussion guides, and the study methodology is appropriate to deliver reliable results.
  • Sustain comprehensive organizational knowledge regarding competitive trends, health care environmental influences and investment performance against various marketing channels.
  • Coordinate with data management to ensure insights are based on reliable, high-quality information.
  • Lead global/regional performance reporting and diagnostics including reconciliation with global forecasts.
  • Provide insights into business performance in relation to the execution of global strategy and recommendations to internal customers at all levels.

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required; with a minimum of 15+ years of Pharmaceutical Commercial Analytics/Forecasting/Market Research experience.
  • Launch experience in Specialty or Rare Disease, required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in consensus building, characterizing and communicating uncertainty, and be able to explain issues from aggregate trends to modeling mechanics.
  • Expert understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies with an ability to synthesize outputs into actionable insights.
  • Superior analytical skills with proficiency in a broad range of data analysis and intelligence generation.
  • Ability to run statistical analyses, contribute to new analysis methodologies, and engage with Analytics/statistical modeling experts.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo Syndicated data sources).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity to keep digging until a clear root cause analysis is completed.
  • Ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment maintaining flexibility and changing priorities to meet demanding timelines.
  • Strong team player with ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong proven leadership, analytical and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with many cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to understand and influence decisions.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Self-starter. Proactive in nature, actively participates and self-motivated.
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities.

Preferred

  • Masterโ€™s Degree or MBA preferred with 13 years of experience in the Life Science, Biotechnology, or Pharma industry.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Travel

You may be required to travel for up to 15% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range

$219,000 - $274,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
