Senior Director, Focused Ultrasound Drug Delivery

Role: Senior technical leader in ultrasound-mediated drug delivery at Lilly's Drug Delivery group, focusing on deep-tissue and targeted delivery technologies. Primary objectives include defining the scientific vision and multi-year strategy for ultrasound-based platforms, representing Lilly externally, and translating mechanistic science into IND-ready delivery systems. Responsibilities encompass leading cross-functional teams, establishing external collaborations, overseeing preclinical safety and efficacy studies, and mentoring scientists. Qualifications: PhD in biomedical, mechanical engineering, bioacoustics, or biophysics; 8+ years in ultrasound-mediated bioeffects and biologic delivery; expertise in FUS physics, cavitation, and sonoporation; strong publication/patent record; experience with AI/ML tools; leadership skills. Preferred: experience with CAD or acoustic modeling tools, ability to build external scientific relationships.
