About The Role
Senior Director, Field Medical Excellence (FME) β strategic leadership for the FME team driving the vision and mission; develop a long-term roadmap to advance field medical capabilities aligned to program success. Responsible for Field Medical tools, systems, and processes across the US, Europe, and Japan. Collaborate globally with Field Medical Leadership, Medical Affairs, Commercial Effectiveness, Legal, Compliance, and IT.
What Youβll Do
- Ensure clarity of FME goals/objectives; enable decision-making/prioritization; plan for readiness and effectiveness.
- Create a long-term roadmap for field medical capabilities, incorporating regional needs, external customer expectations, and industry best practices (processes/tools/systems per capability).
- Develop, track, and optimize annual FME budget; allocate resources to meet business needs.
- Drive consistency in core field capabilities across regions and therapeutic areas in the US; co-create solutions to meet global needs.
- Lead a US forum across therapeutic areas for FM processes, policies, and systems (best-practice/community of practice).
- Lead a global forum for regional alignment and best-practice sharing.
- Apply external/environmental insights and industry advancements to improve field medical policies, processes, and tools.
- Partner cross-functionally (Field Medical Leadership, Global Medical Training, Medical Insights & Analytics, Medical Strategy, Clinical Development, IT, Legal/Compliance, Commercial Effectiveness) for integrated plans.
- Spend time in the field understanding customer and MSL needs and translating opportunities.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP-C) and 10+ years Medical Affairs experience, including 5+ years field medical excellence.
- 5+ years people leadership; advanced understanding of field medical systems/tools/technologies.
- Global experience across international markets; knowledge of US, European, and Japanese markets.
- Deep understanding of regional healthcare systems and compliance environments.
- Strong leadership presence; ability to present/engage; influence with/without authority.
- Strategic, continuous improvement mindset; strong prioritization and high-impact process design.
- Creative problem-solving and flexibility.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience as an MSL.
Work Location / Travel
- Fully remote; occasional travel for team meetings/events; frequent domestic/international travel up to 20%.
Pay Range
$222,000.00β303,000.00 annual.
