Job Summary
The Senior Director - Executive Medical Director, Drug Development is responsible for implementing clinical drug efforts for oncology products (Phase I through Phase III).
Essential Functions
- Provide guidance for successful implementation of investigator-initiated trials for product development and compound life cycle management.
- Implement the highest ethical and regulatory standards during investigation and development of anticancer agents.
- Partner with medical affairs to support launch of future antineoplastic agents.
- Detect and analyze emergent issues during clinical development and develop/implement mitigating strategies.
- Represent the company at national/international medical and scientific meetings, including advisory boards.
- Liaise with discovery science to advance investigational agents from preclinical to clinical development.
- Provide oncology medical/scientific expertise for anti-cancer drug development design strategy and execution.
- Collaborate with external vendors (CROs, imaging and laboratory resources, and global pharma partners) for early-phase and registration global clinical studies.
- Facilitate development of internal/external documents (protocols, informed consents, CRFs, CSRs, abstracts, publications, strategy documents, and project plans).
- Interact with regulatory bodies (FDA, EMA), collaborate with internal regulatory experts, and oversee IND/NDA clinical research plan sections.
- Provide medical/scientific expertise to cross-functional teams (discovery, medical, biostatistics, PK, pharmacovigilance, and clinical operations).
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. with 3–5+ years of oncology drug development experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
- Board certified or eligible in Oncology (preferred).
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
