Senior Director, Engineering & Maintenance
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a multi-year engineering strategy aligned with Elanco 2030 using Reliability Excellence (REx) to maximize asset uptime and support site growth.
- Lead site CAPEX investments and the Master Plan; partner with Global Engineering to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and in full compliance.
- Oversee reliable maintenance and utility operations using SAP-driven predictive programs; advance energy efficiency aligned with ESG goals.
- Champion a “Safety First” culture; ensure technical processes and equipment meet GxP, HSE, and global regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.).
- Lead and mentor a high-performing technical team; manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or engineering in a regulated industry, including 5+ years in leadership.
- Track record managing large-scale capital projects (>$10M).
- Deep expertise in Reliability Excellence (REx) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or MS in Engineering Management.
- Experience in monoclonal antibody, vaccine, and/or recombinant protein manufacturing.
- Biological manufacturing experience (cell culture; purification; viral inactivation; cleaning/sterilization).
- SAP PM/MM experience.
- Commissioning, qualification, and validation for aseptic processes; technology transfers; new product commercialization.
- Capital project design, development, and execution.
- Understanding of USDA, FDA, and EU GMP standards for veterinary biologics.
Travel/Location:
- Monday–Friday with flexibility based on business needs; Elwood, Kansas (onsite).
