Senior Director, Engineering and Materials Science

Role: Lead the development and scale-up of drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes for small molecules or oligonucleotides, supporting clinical to commercial phases. Responsibilities: oversee cross-functional teams of engineers and scientists, define and optimize multi-step syntheses, drive process development, modeling, and technology transfer, collaborate across discovery, analytical, and formulation groups, promote industry best practices and innovation, and mentor junior team members. Requirements: BS (+20 yrs), MS (+15 yrs), or PhD (+11 yrs) in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field; 5+ years managing a team; extensive experience in pharmaceutical process development, unit operations, particle engineering, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and process modeling; demonstrated process scale-up and regulatory dossier authoring skills. High-Value: small molecule and oligonucleotide APIs, process development across clinical phases, process modeling, regulatory documentation, and team leadership in a biotech setting.
