Senior Director, Data Science

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a multi-year data science roadmap aligned with the Elanco 2030 strategic plan.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI/ML use cases delivering measurable ROI and long-term value.
- Lead adoption of Generative AI, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation across the enterprise.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a world-class team of data scientists; build leadership capabilities.
- Develop and deploy production-grade AI models and automated workflows in partnership with IT Data Product Teams, engineers, and architects.
- Partner with IT, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance to integrate data science into core business processes.
- Ensure data science activities comply with the Elanco AI Policy, ethics, and data privacy standards.
- Engage with the broader tech and animal health ecosystem for outside-in innovation.
- Communicate complex technical concepts into compelling business narratives for senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s or equivalent in business or data management.
- 10–12+ years data science/advanced analytics experience; 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven delivery of large-scale data and AI/ML projects with significant business impact.
- “Founder’s mentality” to own outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI and LLMs.
- Graduate work/additional certifications in Data Science and/or DAMA/DMBOK-aligned certifications.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), 2026.

Additional Information:
- Location: Indianapolis, US (Global HQ) / Hybrid; Travel up to 10%.
- Reports to: Executive Director, Data & Analytics.
