Role Summary

Senior Director, Cybersecurity - Operational Excellence leads the operational heartbeat of cybersecurity at a global scale, turning priorities into execution, ensuring crisp governance, and making data-driven decisions to enhance enterprise resilience. Partners with senior leaders to align cybersecurity strategy with long-term technology vision and bold organizational goals, setting the pace for capability optimization, talent mobilization, and execution. Designs the operating rhythm to accelerate outcomes while strengthening culture, sustainability, and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Alignment and Governance: Drive alignment between cybersecurity and enterprise strategy; embed oversight and delivery fields to time and quality using an agreed RACI.
  • Performance Management and Analytics: Define, supervise and contribute to goals; use analytics to identify gaps, drive improvements, and demonstrate value.
  • Benchmarking and Ongoing Improvement: Lead cross-sector and in-industry comparisons to inform strategic choices and thought leadership.
  • Capability Optimization: Optimize end-to-end capabilities; set and meet targets to improve speed, quality, and cost.
  • Strategic Workforce and Partner Ecosystem: Identify workforce gaps and build a strategic plan spanning employees and external vendors to meet current and future needs.
  • Planning and Reporting: Develop and supervise cybersecurity goals and targets; enable mid-term planning and regional summaries with robust data and insights.
  • Roadmaps and Prioritization: Gather, maintain and socialize capability roadmaps to guide investment and sequencing.
  • Develop and lead a cybersecurity program focused on balanced security practices; educate the workforce and contribute to Healthcare Availability.
  • Program Governance and Data Integrity: Champion standards and operating processes; ensure CMDB, project inventory, and operational data are accurate.
  • Communications and Engagement: Coordinate leadership messaging, relationship building, and Town Halls; celebrate people and outcomes to build momentum.
  • Execution and Value Realization: Orchestrate initiative delivery with clearly measured outcomes and benefits.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build relationships with Strategy, Performance & Quality, HR, and Finance; coordinate change, headcount, and outsourced service providers.
  • Organizational Structure and Talent: Build an organization with the right skills for innovations, offerings, and client engagement through development and recruitment.
  • Culture and Listening: Act as Pulse Champion; socialize results and drive improvements to lift performance and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Required: Extensive senior leadership experience overseeing cybersecurity strategy execution and operational excellence in a global enterprise; ability to align cybersecurity strategy with long-term technology strategy and governance (RACI).
  • Required: Proven track record defining and contributing to enterprise-level OKRs/KPIs for cybersecurity and technology outcomes; advanced analytics to diagnose performance and drive impact.
  • Required: Experience conducting cross- and in-industry benchmarking to inform strategy and continuous improvement; track record of optimizing capabilities with explicit targets and timely delivery.
  • Required: Experience developing and supervising cybersecurity strategic priorities and milestones; maintaining capability roadmaps; reporting to senior leadership.
  • Required: Ownership of sustainability and workforce education within cybersecurity, with contributions to Access to Healthcare.
  • Required: Deep knowledge of operational governance, standards, processes, and adoption across diverse teams; hands-on CMDB and project portfolio data accuracy.
  • Required: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience coordinating leadership communications and large-scale events.
  • Required: Experience working with HR and Finance to lead change initiatives, headcount planning, and outsourced service providers; organization design and recruitment expertise.
  • Required: Experience leading culture and engagement efforts, including acting as Pulse Champion and translating insights into action.
  • Preferred: Background in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or other regulated industries; experience scaling operating models globally across regions/time zones; recognized thought leadership in cybersecurity strategy or operating model design.
  • Preferred: Strong executive storytelling skills; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
