Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Set creative vision/direction for Global Communications; evolve Lilly’s visual identity in storytelling with the masterbrand team.
- Concept and produce social-first, channel-native content with the Senior Director, Digital & Social Media across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and Lilly.com.
- Build and lead an in-house studio (video, design, multimedia) delivering at newsroom pace against editorial calendar and real-time moments.
- Attract, develop, retain talent; create a high-standards culture with psychological safety for creative risk-taking.
- Champion storytelling excellence—translate complex science/strategy into clear, emotionally compelling narratives.
- Push creative boundaries with automation, generative/agentic AI, and intelligent workflows to improve speed/precision/consistency.
- Own creative pipeline execution (tracking, milestones, operating rhythms).
- Scale production via agencies/freelancers; partner closely with Thread Collective.
- Activate Lilly’s history as a storytelling asset; lead historians/archivists.
- Partner cross-functionally to translate strategy into campaign/launch/leadership creative.
- Own rights/licensing/consent (music, talent, stock, patient/caregiver imagery).

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, design, or related).
- 10+ years creative leadership in corporate/agency/global communications; experience in consumer brand/retail/sportswear/ecommerce/healthcare-pharma/high-velocity categories.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Strategic, channel-native social media performance content (e.g., LinkedIn/Instagram/TikTok/X/YouTube).
- Newsroom-paced experience with constant editorial judgment/reputation pressure.
- Portfolio across video/design/multimedia; enterprise storytelling.
- Data/insights to guide creative and measure impact.
- Adobe Creative Suite; emerging AI design tools.
- Player-coach studio leadership; global creative perspective; strong partnership/resource management; leadership & collaboration.
