Sr Director of Corporate HSE provides leadership, direction, and oversight of global HSE programs, including continuous improvement of compliance and risk management systems; oversight of internal/external HSE auditing; leadership of HSE-related business development (M&A); monitoring HSE performance; establishing/executing new site integration strategies; ownership of enterprise HSE processes and systems; and monitoring external trends/best practices. Supervises Global HSE staff; manages Global HSE annual/strategic plan; leads corporate governance teams.

Key objectives/deliverables:
- Maintain Global HSE Standards; oversee auditing function.
- Assess HSE aspects for corporate business development initiatives.
- Integrate Lilly standards into new sites/business areas.

Global HSE programs/aspects:
- Support business continuity and emergency management; facilitate Corporate Incidence Support Team.
- Manage enterprise-wide HSE aspects and governance.
- Develop and implement enterprise HSE IT system strategy.
- Coordinate HSE across the value chain/divisions for a comprehensive global HSE management system.
- Oversee due diligence and external partner programs.

HSE performance/goals & external focus:
- Establish and track corporate HSE goals; report to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Benchmark; manage professional/trade memberships.
- Oversee regulatory monitoring strategies and influence leadership.

People:
- Lead/develop team; coach staff; manage performance.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related technical field).
- 10+ years HSE/engineering/operations experience.
- 10+ years leadership experience.

Preferred skills:
- Practical HSE management system experience; strong organizational/analytical skills; manufacturing operations awareness (incl. external manufacturing); cross-functional influence; leadership/team building; ability to craft messages for all levels.

Other:
- Primary work location: Indianapolis; occasional domestic/international travel (~5–10%).
