Role Summary

Senior Director, Competitive Intelligence within AstraZeneca's Oncology Research & Development (R&D) Strategy team. This role focuses on shaping strategy and influencing investment decisions by delivering analysis and insights to Senior Leadership and key partners to ensure a full understanding of the evolving oncology landscape. The position requires analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a network of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of competitive analysis to shape future-proofed therapy area strategies.
  • Drive in-depth analysis of clinical and commercial data and communicate critical insights to key decision makers.
  • Provide transparency and constructive challenge to stakeholders to influence strategy and investment decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a network of trusted internal and external partners to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree
  • Required: At least 3 years of experience in research and/or with data, analysis and fact-based decision-making (equity research background is a definite asset)
  • Required: A critical, innovative thinker with a background in oncology, clinical / research or investment analysis
  • Required: Highly intellectual with excellent analytical skills and learning agility
  • Required: Experienced in leading cross-functional teams with ability to influence without authority
  • Required: A clear communicator with the ability to communicate complex issues simply
  • Required: Resourceful, motivated, decisive and proactive; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization
  • Preferred: Educated to PhD, MD or MBA level
  • Preferred: More than 4+ years of working experience with clinical data and analysis (financial models, industry trends)
  • Preferred: More than 2 years working in Oncology
  • Preferred: In-depth understanding of clinical data, clinical trial design or regulatory frameworks
