Senior Director, Business Development Forecasting & Analytics
Role
- Lead end-to-end commercial assessment for licensing, acquisition, and partnership opportunities in new/adjacent markets; build forecasting infrastructure to improve BD analytics.
White Space Assessment & Market Intelligence
- Lead commercial assessments from early landscape scoping through deal-stage forecasting; deliver a defensible POV at each stage.
- Develop expertise in unfamiliar therapeutic areas (epidemiology, treatment algorithms, competitive dynamics, payer landscapes, emerging clinical data).
- Proactively size white space; track signals across pipelines, regulatory trends, and payer policy.
Market Research Leadership
- Design and lead primary qualitative/quantitative research with physicians, payers, patients, and channel partners.
- Commission/critically evaluate third-party research; translate findings into actionable commercial insight.
- Build reusable institutional knowledge for new markets.
Forecasting Model Development
- Build modular, reusable forecasting models for data-scarce settings (analogue models, epidemiology-driven patient flow, expert elicitation, scenario trees).
- Model commercial picture: uptake, competitive erosion, pricing/access, channel dynamics, lifecycle scenarios, and probability of success.
BD Partnership & Executive Influence
- Partner with BD leadership through screening, due diligence, term sheet, and integration planning.
- Present defensible forecasts and recommendations to senior executives.
- Represent Lilly commercially with external counterparts during diligence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorβs or advanced degree in a scientific field.
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial strategy, BD analytics, market research, or strategic forecasting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterβs degree; experience across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Track record building commercial conviction in ambiguous/new markets.
- Primary research leadership; strong financial modeling (bottoms-up/epidemiology forecasting, DCF/rNPV, scenario/sensitivity).
- Deep understanding of pharma markets and channel/go-to-market innovations; strong executive communication.
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated wage: $169,500β$275,000; bonus eligibility for full-time equivalent employees.
