Role Summary

The Senior Director, Commercial Data Management is responsible for leading the development, stewardship, and operations of a scalable, analytics-ready data lake. This role will focus on translating business needs into functional data requirements, partnering with external vendors to deliver a robust data infrastructure, and ensuring high-quality, governed data assets that power insights and decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the strategy, governance, and execution of enterprise master data capabilities, supporting all Supernus business units.
  • Ensures integrity, consistency, and availability of critical data domains across the organization.
  • Understands business use cases and translates them into clear, actionable, and functional requirements for data models.
  • Collaborates with Commercial Insights & Analytic teams to document business rules and ensure alignment with analytical needs.
  • Leads the design and evolution of a scalable data infrastructure.
  • Drives data quality monitoring, alerting, and remediation processes.
  • Manages vendor service and support plans to ensure adherence to data quality standards.
  • Oversees governance practices including metadata management, access control, and data lineage.
  • Leads the onboarding of new data sources, stabilizes them to a steady state, and manages ongoing cadence with data partners.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Works closely with Supernus third-party vendors in ensuring a high-quality enterprise-wide data lake that has the foundation of reliable customer, product, territory, and other reference data, while driving data quality, consistency, and governance.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Sunshine Act, HIPAA), state, and federal transparency laws, and PDMA requirements.
  • Leverages AI tools to simplify on-demand access to insights and empower business users.
  • Other responsibilities and projects assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and management in an effective manner consistent with Company Values towards defined Corporate Objectives.
  • Understands Company Policy and Procedures to be able to guide direct reports appropriately.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience required or a Masters degree and a minimum of ten years of related experience.
  • Proven expertise in establishing data governance, stewardship, and data quality management frameworks.
  • Advanced understanding of data warehouses, analytics, and CRM systems.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or experience in a leadership role a plus.
  • Previous experience with master data management practices, platforms, and architecting highly reliable integrations and workflows a plus.
  • Expert level experience implementing MDM solutions for Specialty Pharmacy/Distributor data, IQVIA (XPO, FIA, LAAD, OneKey, HCOS), AMA/DEA/NPI, claims, and Veeva Open Data.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Travel required up to 15% of the time.
