Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct late-stage clinical research for new or marketed Atherosclerosis medicines (development strategy through initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication).
- Plan clinical trials (design, operational plans, settings) and monitor/manage ongoing or new trials.
- Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety/efficacy decisions, NDA/clinical study reports, and publication.
- Participate in internal and internal/external research project teams; evaluate pre-clinical/translational work to generate early clinical plans and INDs.
- Develop clinical development strategies; support business development assessments of external opportunities.
- Maintain scientific knowledge via awareness of new findings/methodologies, identifying investigators, establishing key investigator communications, and attending scientific meetings.
- Author development documents/presentations/budgets/position papers; facilitate global collaborations; travel ~20% to manage clinical projects.
Qualifications:
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
- Required: industry or senior faculty experience; 3+ years clinical medicine; 3–5 years industry drug development/biomedical research (or academia equivalent); proven success overseeing Phase 2/3 studies; strong scientific scholarship; proven clinical/biomedical research background; strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills.
- Preferred: board certified/eligible in Cardiology (adult/pediatric), Endocrinology, or Nephrology (or related); prior clinical research experience and publication.
