Senior Director, Chief Information Security Officer

Role: Senior Director, Cybersecurity (Chief Information Security Officer) responsible for building and scaling enterprise cybersecurity capabilities to protect Scholar Rock's assets, data, and operations. Responsibilities include defining cybersecurity strategy, governance, policies, and risk management; leading security architecture, engineering, and operations; managing compliance, audit, and data protection initiatives; overseeing vendor relationships; and guiding the cybersecurity culture across the organization. Collaborates with executive leadership, legal, privacy, IT, and business functions to align security with growth and regulatory requirements. Leads a team, mentors staff, and fosters a security-conscious environment.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field; 12+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with leadership roles; expertise in cybersecurity architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance; experience managing security in regulated environments; CISSP certification mandatory.

Preferred: Experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or medical devices; supporting GxP systems, validation, and inspection readiness; familiarity with cloud security, identity/access management, vulnerability management, data protection, and cyber resilience; additional certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CCSP, or ISO 27001 advantageous.
