Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and external business partners to promote the Caris BBD business portfolio.
- Learn Caris products/solutions and meet partner needs through solution delivery or tailored product customization.
- Generate leads; develop presentations and proposals; negotiate terms; support contracting; manage existing and prospective partner relationships.
- Build and develop partner relationships to maximize revenue and collaboration opportunities; act as the internal voice of the customer.
- Coordinate with molecular science, laboratory, bioinformatics, technology, pathology, legal, and medical affairs; coverage determined by geography, expertise, bandwidth, and resources.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years professional experience; at least 5 years in biopharma and/or business development.
- Proven BD track record (e.g., deal sheets) leading diligences and complex organization-wide partnership efforts.
- Transactions knowledge (contracting, deal sheets, multi-tier/multi-constituent decision making).
- Experience as the external face of the organization; lead/participate in BD partnering events (e.g., JPM, BIO) and oncology conferences.
- Lead customer demos and presentations (in-person and virtual).
- Extensive biopharma R&D process knowledge (prioritized targets, call points, decision-maker constituents).
- Deep knowledge/experience partnering on oncology products, lab services, therapeutic assets, bioinformatics, real-world data/evidence, and/or clinical trial enrollment-related services.
- Experience in molecular biology; knowledge of drug discovery/development and/or diagnostics/platforms preferred.
- Expertise across the biopharma value chain and drug development continuum (early research through medical/commercialization).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and/or MD or PhD strongly preferred.
- Superior oral/written communication and negotiation skills.
- Motivated, self-initiating, goal-oriented; can grow the business portfolio.
- Sales/BD experience scaling from modular sales to larger strategic partnerships.
- Team-oriented, problem-solving mindset; willingness to support team and collaborate.
- Ability to develop internal/external materials (e.g., evaluation/leadership presentations, pitch decks).
- Entrepreneurial, independent, strategic thinker.
- Some travel (~30%) emphasizing regional partners.
