Senior Director, AI Solution Architecture
What You Will Do
- Define and lead Amgen’s enterprise AI solution architecture strategy, translating complex business needs into scalable AI products, platforms, and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Co-create high-impact AI solutions with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Operations, Commercial, and corporate functions.
- Partner with senior business, product, technology, data, and AI leaders to scope large-scale AI initiatives and decompose ambiguous opportunities into executable solution pathways.
- Develop solution blueprints connecting business objectives, user needs, AI/ML methods, data assets, platform capabilities, integration needs, governance, and measurable ROI.
- Assess feasibility, value potential, implementation complexity, data readiness, operating model requirements, and adoption pathways.
- Partner with AI engineering, data engineering, platform/architecture, product, security/privacy/legal/compliance, and domain teams to ensure scalable, secure, governed, production-ready solutions.
- Establish reusable standards and frameworks for AI intake, prioritization, decomposition, value assessment, architecture review, and delivery readiness.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing AI solution architecture function.
Qualifications
Basic
- Doctorate with 4+ years, or Master’s with 6+ years, or Bachelor’s with 8+ years in AI/ML, data science, computer science, engineering, product, or technology strategy.
- 4+ years direct managerial experience (managing managers or senior technical leaders).
Preferred
- 12+ years AI/ML/data science/enterprise architecture/product/technology strategy leadership.
- Track record scaling enterprise AI with measurable ROI.
- Deep technical understanding of modern AI/ML, generative AI, MLOps, cloud architecture, APIs, and production AI.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into solution architectures, plans, value cases, and adoption pathways.
- Experience decomposing large-scale cross-functional AI initiatives.
- Biotech/pharma/healthcare or regulated industry experience; familiarity with responsible AI, privacy/security/regulatory/model-risk.
