Role Summary

The Senior Director, New Product Commercialization is a critical role in developing, refining, and measuring the company’s commercial strategy for the emerging pipeline. The role acts as a Commercial representative on multiple Program teams, conducting US and Global Market Research, performing market opportunity assessments, understanding competitive landscapes, and performing analytics to inform go-to-market strategy for pipeline assets and business development opportunities. It is a leadership role within Commercial Operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive insights generation and advanced analytics in support of marketed products. The position reports to the GVP, Commercial Operations and collaborates with Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Value & Access, Patient Services, Medical, Regulatory, and Program Management. Based in the Lexington office with a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

  • Drive robust delivery on commercial services related to primary and secondary market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, business intelligence & reporting, and advanced analytics
  • Provide commercial opportunity assessments for possible new indications, including analysis of treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, unmet needs, product positioning, and value proposition, and assess implications
  • Act as the commercial champion on program teams to ensure customer needs are incorporated into target product profiles and development/lifecycle plans
  • Support development and retention of top talent within the Commercial Operations function
  • Lead partnership with brand teams, global and cross-functional partners to address key business questions
  • Strategically prioritize and drive forward priorities considering business need, resourcing, and impact
  • Partner with Insights and Analytics to implement innovative analytics & market research techniques
  • Collaborate on go-to-market data strategy for pipeline assets and enable near real-time analytics through standardized data structures
  • Explore advanced analytics and AI to improve targeting, patient finding, and risk stratification
  • Develop understanding of the data model and coordinate with IT to ensure commercial data infrastructure supports analytics objectives
  • Deliver high-quality outputs with accurate analysis and strong insights
  • Deliver commercial assessments for future indications and BD initiatives and execute on foundational insights generation as therapies progress
  • Review and refine pipeline asset forecast models to improve accuracy and illuminate key drivers
  • Manage agency/vendor partnerships and NPC / Insights and Analytics budget
  • Produce and deliver executive-level presentations
  • Support US and ex-US commercialization with insights and forecasting for global partners

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA or BS (MS or MBA preferred) with 8+ years of data analysis, decision support, market research, and forecasting experience
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience required
  • Experience developing and executing launch strategy with deep market understanding
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale cross-functional projects
  • Expert knowledge in systematically capturing information, analyzing statistical data, and identifying patterns/trends
  • Working knowledge of AWS, SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau preferred
  • Strong command of analytical and market research techniques and experience with vendor management
  • Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and forecast models
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision to direct reports and align resources accordingly
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards
  • Ability to travel ~20% domestically and internationally
