Senior Director, New Product Commercialization
The Senior Director, New Product Commercialization is a critical role in furthering the development, refinement, and measurement of Kiniksaโs commercial strategy for our emerging pipeline. The person in this role will be a Commercial representative on multiple Program teams and will be responsible for conducting US & Global Market Research, performing market opportunity assessments, generating robust understanding of evolving competitive landscapes, and performing analytics to inform go-to-market strategy for pipeline assets and in support of business development opportunities. Additionally, the person in this role will be a key leader within the Commercial Operations function, sitting on the Commercial Operations leadership team and collaborating with members of the ARCALYST Commercial Ops team to drive innovation in insights generation and advanced analytics in support of our marketed product. Ultimately, this role must be adept at uncovering strategic insights through a variety of data sources and methodologies, and must be able to drive organizational understanding of, and action based on, these insights to positively affect business results. This position reports to the GVP, Commercial Operations and will work closely with members of Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Value & Access, Patient Services, Medical, Regulatory, and Program Management.
This role is based in our Lexington office. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office, and 1 day remote.
Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To)
- Drive robust delivery on commercial services related to: Primary and Secondary Market Research, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Business Intelligence & Reporting, and Advanced Analytics.
- Provide commercial opportunity assessments related to possible new indications, including analysis of current and future treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, unmet needs, product positioning, and value proposition, as well as making judgments about implications.
- Function as the commercial champion on program teams to ensure that customer needs are incorporated into the target product profile and all development and lifecycle management plans.
- Support in development and retention the top talent within the Commercial Operations function.
- Lead and drive a thought partnership with brand teams, global, and cross-functional partners to understand and address key business questions.
- Strategically prioritize and drive forward priorities considering business need, resourcing, and expected impact.
- Partner with Insights and Analytics team to bring forward innovative analytics & market research techniques.
- Collaborate with Insights and Analytics team on go-to-market data strategy definition for pipeline assets and seek to provide data structure to automate analytics so that they are standardized and performed in near real-time.
- Realize potential of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence in driving forward opportunities to drive brand performance through improved targeting, patient finding, and patient risk stratification.
- Develop deep understanding of Kiniksa data model, and partner IT team to ensure commercial data infrastructure supports analytics objectives.
- Drive to high quality deliverables ensuring high degree of accuracy of analysis and strength of insights.
- Partner with insights team and cross functional partners to deliver on commercial assessments for future indications and BD initiatives, and develop and execute on foundational insights generation plan as pipeline therapies progress in development.
- Review and refine pipeline asset forecast models with aim of both improving accuracy and driving understanding of key drivers of long-term brand success.
- Ensure successful agency/vendor partnerships and manage NPC / Insights and Analytics budget.
- Produce and deliver executive-level presentations.
- Be a thought leader in support of both US and ex-US commercialization, providing insights and forecasting support to partners in global markets.
Qualifications
- Requires a BA or BS (MS or MBA preferred) with 8+ years of data analysis, decision support, market research, and forecasting experience. Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience required.
- Requires prior experience in successfully developing and executing launch strategy through expert understanding of the market and industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale cross-functional projects.
- Expert knowledge in capturing relevant information systematically, analyzing statistical data and identifying key issues patterns and trends.
- Working knowledge of AWS, SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau is preferred.
- Strong command of analytical and market research techniques and experience with selection and management of vendors.
- Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and forecast models.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced growth environment.
- Ability to create and communicate a clear vision among direct reports, effectively aligning resources and motivating teams to achieve goals.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills--able to explain complex concepts clearly to executive audiences.
- Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time both domestically and internationally.
