Responsibilities:
- Conceive, design, and implement advanced AI-powered published insights solutions (including agentic workflows) to address scientific/strategic trends and knowledge gaps in therapeutic modalities.
- Develop and deliver intelligence solutions to systematically extract, analyze, summarize, integrate, and proactively monitor knowledge on novel therapeutic modalities (e.g., gene/cell therapies, RNA therapies, antibody-based drugs).
- Build robust data pipelines and analytical workflows for large, complex published (often unstructured) data, including literature, patents, news/press releases, and competitor pipelines, using knowledge & information science, Generative AI/NLP, data warehousing, and software development.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D, drug development, and therapeutic modality trends.
- Operate with high autonomy, proactively tackling complex problems and driving multiple projects.
- Pursue and evaluate external/internal leads in novel modalities, technologies, and data sources; incorporate new findings and generate actionable insights for R&D and business strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure solutions meet real-world needs and democratize access to key intelligence.
- Mentor or supervise junior data and information scientists.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends/methodologies/technologies to advance therapeutic modality and competitor intelligence.
- Author high-impact presentations and publications.
- Ensure adherence to standards of compliance, data security, GxP, and code of conduct.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in life sciences (with 4+ years relevant experience); equivalent: Masterβs (10+ years) or Bachelorβs (12+ years).
- Deep knowledge of emerging therapeutic modalities (biotherapeutics such as ADCs/mAbs/multispecifics/cell therapies, degraders, gene therapies like AAV/lentiviral/CAR-T/CRISPR, RNA therapies like mRNA/siRNA/ASO).
- Demonstrated leadership in designing/delivering technology solutions that translate complex questions into actionable, large-scale information solutions.
- Solid programming/informatics/data science background; Python required.
- Hands-on expertise extracting/integrating knowledge from literature, patents, competitive intelligence databases (e.g., Citeline, Cortellis), and news/press releases.
- Competence using GenAI models for knowledge extraction (including prompting and pitfalls).
- Ability to rapidly learn/adapt to new therapeutic modality and information tech advances; manage shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical/organizational/problem-solving skills with attention to detail and integrity.
- Excellent written/oral English; ability to communicate complex concepts to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Preferred:
- Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience with fast-paced, multidisciplinary, collaborative environments and global teams.
- Familiarity with data engineering/software principles, relational databases/SQL (e.g., Oracle, Hadoop), and common formats/APIs (REST, XML, JSON; Pydantic).
- Experience embedding GenAI models in larger Python workflows for automated knowledge extraction.
- Basic understanding of agents/agentic workflows (MCP, A2A).
