Responsibilities:
- Conceive, design, and implement advanced AI-powered published insights solutions (including agentic workflows) to address scientific and strategic trends and knowledge gaps in therapeutic modalities.
- Develop and deliver intelligence solutions to systematically extract, analyze, summarize, integrate, and proactively monitor key knowledge about novel therapeutic modalities (e.g., gene/cell therapies, RNA or antibody-based drugs) to meet urgent scientific and business needs.
- Build robust data pipelines and analytical workflows for large, complex published (often unstructured) data (literature, patents, news/press releases, competitor pipelines) using knowledge/information science, Generative AI/NLP, data warehousing, and software development.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D, drug development, and therapeutic modality trends.
- Operate autonomously; tackle complex problems and drive multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Evaluate external and internal leads in novel modalities, technologies, and data sources; incorporate new findings and generate actionable insights for R&D and business strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure solutions meet real-world needs, fill knowledge gaps, and democratize access to key intelligence.
- Mentor or supervise junior data & information scientists.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends/methodologies/technologies for therapeutic modality and competitor intelligence.
- Author high-impact presentations and publications for diverse audiences.
- Ensure adherence to AbbVie standards for compliance, data security, GxP, and code of conduct.

Required:
- PhD (4+ years) in life sciences (or equivalent: Masterβs 10+ years or Bachelorβs 12+ years).
- Deep knowledge of emerging therapeutic modalities (biotherapeutics such as ADCs/mAbs/multispecific antibodies/cell therapies; degraders; gene therapies like AAV/lentiviral/CAR-T/CRISPR; RNA therapies like mRNA/siRNA/ASO).
- Demonstrated leadership designing/delivering technology solutions; ability to translate scientific/business questions into actionable large-scale information solutions.
- Solid programming/informatics/data science background; Python proficiency required.
- Hands-on expertise extracting/integrating knowledge from literature, patents, competitive intelligence databases (e.g., Citeline, Cortellis), and news/press releases.
- Competence using GenAI models for knowledge extraction (prompting, pitfalls, etc.).
- Ability to rapidly learn/adapt to new therapeutic modalities and information technologies; manage shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical/organizational/problem-solving skills; attention to detail, reliability, and integrity.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills; ability to present complex concepts to scientists, non-scientific audiences, and different leadership levels.
