Senior Data Scientist

Role: Senior Data Scientist focused on leveraging AI and advanced analytics to accelerate drug development at Formation Bio. Responsibilities include leading data science initiatives such as developing models for patient stratification, biomarker discovery, and clinical trial optimization; designing AI solutions for biomedical workflows; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate biological data into actionable insights. Requirements: PhD in computational or life sciences; 3+ years post-academic experience in biotech, pharma, or consulting; strong Python programming skills; expertise in multi-modal bioinformatics analysis. Preferred: cloud computing proficiency; experience with machine learning, deep learning in biological contexts; familiarity with large language models; ability to work effectively with engineering teams and communicate complex findings to leadership. High-Value: focus on AI-driven drug discovery, therapeutic hypothesis testing, clinical trial modernization, biological data analysis, and biomarker identification. Work Setup: hybrid model based in NYC, Boston, Research Triangle, or San Francisco, requiring 3 days/week onsite; relocation or residence in these hubs preferred.
