Corporate Functions
Role Purpose
- Provide senior legal support for the operationalization and scaling of AI across AbbVie, enabling efficient, consistent, and risk-aligned deployment of AI technologies.

Scope & Impact
- Enterprise support for high-volume AI deployment and adoption across business functions
- Lead legal support for AI-related commercial transactions and operational processes
- Scale AI governance frameworks and intake processes (e.g., ACTOR)
- Senior legal advisor to business and functional stakeholders

Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide senior legal support for AI-enabled use cases across commercial, R&D, and enterprise productivity tools
- Conduct and oversee legal risk assessments at scale, including:
- Data privacy and data governance
- Intellectual property and licensing
- Regulatory and compliance implications
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex AI-related commercial agreements:
- SaaS and AI vendor agreements
- Data licensing and use agreements
- AI-enabled service and platform agreements
- Develop standard AI contracting templates and enterprise playbooks for AI procurement/vendor engagement
- Partner with Legal Operations and Governance to scale/optimize AI intake and legal review workflows (e.g., ACTOR, workflow tools)
- Provide guidance/training on AI legal risks and best practices; escalate complex/high-risk issues

Qualifications
Required:
- JD and active bar membership
- 5+ years legal experience
- Commercial contracting and technology transactions
- Expertise in data privacy, IP, and SaaS agreements
- Ability to manage complex, high-volume legal workflows
Preferred:
- 8+ years experience; AI/ML or digital platform experience
- In-house experience in large matrixed org; familiarity with enterprise governance/workflow tools
