Role Summary
You will serve as a legal advisor and counselor to corporate and divisional People Experience (PX) professionals, and business leaders, providing expert guidance on a variety of federal and state employment law issues in the US.
Responsibilities
- Provide PX and business leaders advice and counsel on employment laws, regulations, Company policies and best practices impacting all phases of employment.
- Review, draft, and revise Company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage employment litigation with support from outside counsel, including attorney demand letters, administrative charges, complaints, and arbitration.
- Provide strategic counsel, risk mitigation, and guidance on investigations, disciplinary matters, terminations and other sensitive workplace issues.
- Draft, review and update employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.
- Develop and conduct employment law and policy related training for PX, management, and colleagues.
- Stay current on changes to employment laws and regulations and inform the necessary parties of any changes that could impact the business.
Qualifications
- Required: JD and admitted member of the bar in New York, or a U.S. state with reciprocity with New York.
- Required: 7+ years' experience practicing employment law (in-house and/or law firm).
- Required: Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Required: Excellent business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk with business goals.
- Required: Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with multiple internal stakeholders.
- Required: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Artificial Intelligence legal knowledge and interest.
- Preferred: Pharmaceutical industry experience.
Additional Requirements
