Role: Computational biologist specializing in early target discovery within Recursion's precision oncology team, focusing on integrating large multi-omics datasets to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets. Responsibilities: evaluate molecular evidence for target nomination, develop and pilot innovative methods for target validation and patient stratification, define data package criteria, collaborate with cross-functional teams (biologists, chemists, data scientists), and present findings to stakeholders to accelerate drug programs. Requirements: PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field with 3+ years biotech/pharma experience in early drug discovery; expertise in precision oncology, patient genetics, and computational methods including machine learning; strong data visualization and communication skills. Preferred: experience building target discovery engines, designing high-throughput screens, and progressing programs to IND. High-Value: focus on precision oncology, target identification, early translational research, and data-driven decision-making. Work setup: hybrid office-based roles in Salt Lake City, UT or New York, NY, with at least 50% onsite presence.
