Role Summary
Senior Computational Biologist / Senior Expert I in Novartis' radioligand therapy (RLT) Oncology Data Science team. Location: Cambridge/Watertown, MA. Drive data-driven target identification, indication prioritization, drug development, patient biomarker discovery and back-translation in a fast-paced biotech-like environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, analyze and interpret high-dimensional biological data for RLT discovery.
- Apply bioinformatics and machine learning to integrate diverse datasets and uncover actionable biological insights.
- Drive oncology research by identifying targets, understanding mechanisms, and supporting patient stratification.
- Implement analytical methods for emerging technologies and ensure robust data processing pipelines.
- Lead integration of multi-modal datasets to generate holistic views of tumor biology and therapeutic response.
- Stay current with trends in computational biology and proactively apply innovative approaches to research.
- Communicate findings and strategic insights clearly to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to shape project strategy and define key scientific questions.
Qualifications
- This position located at Cambridge, MA and Watertown, MA sites; remote work not available; travel weekly between sites.
- PhD + 2 years or MSc + 8 years of industry experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, data/computer science or related field.
- Proficiency in Python or R; familiarity with UNIX/Linux, version control and reproducible workflows.
- Demonstrated statistical and analytical rigor with multidimensional omics datasets (e.g., transcriptomics, single-cell omics).
- Knowledge in cancer genomics, proteomics, cellular addressing or immuno-oncology.
- Understanding of best coding practices and collaborative data science workflows.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, curious, creative, solution-oriented mindset.
Desirable
- Experience with radioligand therapy (RLT) drug discovery and/or imaging.
- Familiarity with clinical biomarker data processing and survival analysis.

Additional Requirements
