About The Position
The Senior Clinical Scientist will be responsible for maintaining scientific and clinical knowledge in the specific therapeutic and disease area(s) and will effectively partner with other clinical and medical colleagues, clinical operations and other functional lines for the successful implementation and execution of the clinical trial(s) within the assigned program.
Key Responsibilities
- Represents clinical science in sub-teams, provides updates, and delivers presentations
- Stays abreast of internal and external developments, trends and other dynamics relevant to the work of clinical science to maintain a fully current view and perspective of internal/external influences and/or implications for the program
- Participates in competitive intelligence and/or other market/industry assessment activities and projects
- Maintains scientific and clinical knowledge in the specific therapeutic area of assignment
- Collaborates with a variety of internal and external partners and stakeholders, such as clinical investigators, clinicians, scientists and KOLs
- Expected to make important contributions to the drug development strategy and to the development of clinical documents (IB, protocols, etc.)
- Collaborates with clinical operations to develop agendas, materials and other items for investigator meetings and other relevant meetings pertaining to assigned studies and programs
- Conducts clinical review of study data, identifying and evaluating study data trends, outliers, and protocol deviations
- Plays a key role in safety meetings; identifies and escalates any potential safety events
- Delivers key presentations, both internally and externally, to convey the clinical science perspective and provide updates on strategies, plans and other activities.
Required Education, Experience, And Skills
- PhD / Neuromuscular expertise highly desired
- 7 years experience in late-stage clinical development
- Proven interpersonal skills enabling to lead a study team, while recognizing individual expert competencies, providing medical advice and evaluations exercising judgement in which issues need to be escalated immediately
- Proactive problem solver with negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills to ensure close collaboration with the cross functional team members so that study plans and status are transparent, and that risks, issues, and results are clear to all involved parties
Salary range: $150,000 - $225,000, title and salary commensurate with experience
