Role Responsibilities:
- Evaluate pre-clinical and translational work to develop early clinical development plans and Investigational New Drug (IND) applications.
- Develop clinical development strategies for investigational or marketed Hematology drugs.
- Plan clinical trials (design and operational plans) based on the clinical development strategy.
- Provide medical oversight and ensure conduct of ongoing or new clinical trials.
- Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety/efficacy decisions, new drug applications, clinical study reports, and publication.
- Participate in internal and internal/external research project teams for new and marketed compounds.
- Support business development assessments of external opportunities.
- May engage cross-functionally to support study execution and manage clinical development projects with experts in commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing.
Scientific/Professional Maintenance:
- Maintain awareness of new scientific findings and methodologies.
- Identify and engage strong investigators.
- Establish communications with prominent clinical investigators.
- Attend relevant scientific meetings.
Education:
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Industry (or senior faculty in academia) experience.
- 3+ years clinical medicine experience.
- 3+ years industry drug development or biomedical research experience in academia.
- Demonstrated success overseeing clinical studies/protocols; scientific scholarship.
- Strong interpersonal/team skills; outstanding verbal/written communication and presentation.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Board Certified or Eligible in Oncology, Hematology, or related discipline.
- Prior clinical research experience and prior publication.
