Role Summary

Senior Clinical Development Medical Director for Dermatology and Immunology, involved across the full scope of dermatology and autoimmune clinical drug development activities from discovery through first-in-human, proof of concept, and Phase 3 studies. Leads one or more studies within the portfolio and collaborates with cross-functional asset teams to advance clinical programs and asset strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Broadly represent Alumis as a senior leader and spokesperson for Clinical Development within Dermatology and Immunology
  • Provide leadership in the management and oversight of the global ESK-001 Phase 3 program in plaque psoriasis, leading one or more studies
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams within Research, Biomarkers, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Study Team as a Dermatology expert
  • Support the clinical Science function in design and development of novel clinical studies and cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide strategic support and implement clinical strategies across early and late-stage programs
  • Coach, manage, inspire, and support team members to achieve business goals with entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset
  • Maintain integrity and scientific standards in drug development
  • Collaborate with CRO to provide medical monitoring oversight for the Phase 3 program
  • Support planning and execution of publication plans, data generation, and submission activities

Qualifications

  • MD or ex-US equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Dermatology or related immunology disease area with >5 years of drug development experience
  • Strong communication skills with credibility to interface with Key Opinion Leaders, external health organizations, and regulators
  • Ability to interact effectively in a cross-functional setting
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, presentation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to assess and communicate expanding medical and scientific information and commercial dynamics impacting drug development
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate across functions
  • Negotiation skills to influence without authority
  • Proven track record of strategic, organizational, and executional skills across multiple activities and timelines
  • Ability to work across diverse teams in a matrixed structure
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work autonomously and with high independence
