Senior Category Manager β€” specialty laboratories across Clinical Development.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop/refresh global category strategies and sourcing plans aligned to clinical development objectives.
- Lead global vendor strategy and provide input into program/study level vendor strategies; accountable for category performance, results, and value delivery.
- Own end-to-end sourcing/contracting lifecycle: RFI/RFP, bid evaluation, vendor selection, negotiations, change orders, and closeout.
- Lead negotiations for complex/high-value agreements; translate business/scientific/legal requirements into contract terms and budgets.
- Lead bid defenses, vendor capability assessments, and category refresh activities; optimize contracting processes for timely execution.
- Ensure compliance via risk management, benchmarking, and alignment with Legal/Quality/Vendor Qualification; ensure sourcing/vender deliverables meet global regulatory and internal standards.
- Support inspection readiness, quality control, and proper contract closeout/archiving; interpret/update policies.
- Partner cross-functionally (Clinical Operations, Legal, Quality, Regulatory, vendor management) to define study requirements and sourcing decisions.
- Drive cost containment and continuous improvement via benchmarking/market intelligence/standard rate cards; serve as SME for sourcing/contracting.

Knowledge/Experience & Skills
- Leadership and stakeholder management in a matrix environment; independent prioritization.
- Deep expertise in sourcing/contracting (RFP, evaluation, negotiation, budgeting, contract management).
- Strong clinical research and global regulatory knowledge; contracting/budgeting/negotiation acumen.
- Ability to analyze cost drivers, solve complex ambiguous problems, and drive cross-functional solutions.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 8 years experience OR Master’s degree + 6 years experience.

Preferred Education/Certifications
- Finance/business/science/medical-related; MS/MBA or JD; PMP; CPSM (or equivalent).

Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Salary range: Bay Area $157,590–$203,940; other US $143,225–$185,350. May include discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life.
