Purpose
The Senior Captain is responsible for the operation of the company aircraft. When assigned to a flight, the captain has final authority regarding the operation of the aircraft, ensuring all flight and ground operations are conducted at the highest levels of safety and comply with federal aviation regulations, applicable foreign regulations, and department/company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Ensure airworthiness of the assigned aircraft and safety of passengers and crew; serve as pilot-in-command for all phases of flight per FAA regulations, aircraft flight manual, and department policies.
- Keep informed and trained on international flight operations; plan and execute international flights.
- Obtain necessary training/skills for type rating for appropriate aircraft.
- Assist Head of Aviation and Director of Flight Operations – Chief Pilot in maintaining/developing company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain mastery of aircraft systems.
- Decide to start, delay, cancel, or deviate from routes/destinations based on operating conditions.
- Coordinate with crewmembers; maintain open communication channels.
- Maintain highest safety standards through pertinent knowledge, pilot proficiency training, and continuing education.
- Maintain understanding of emergency, survival, and medical equipment operation and location.
- Stay current on FAA/foreign regulations and relevant policies; monitor industry/equipment developments.
- Advise Head of Aviation, Director of Flight Operations, and Director of Maintenance regarding flight operations.
- Monitor crew performance and delegate duties for safe/efficient operation.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, executives, and customers; express thoughts coherently and logically (verbal and written).
- Assure safety and security of aircraft while away from home base.
- Maintain flight manuals/navigation charts; complete flight logs and required paperwork.
- Perform post-flight activities (storage/protection, cleaning/restocking) while away from home base.
- Act with clear customer focus.
- Provide leadership and direction; demonstrate teamwork/professionalism; treat coworkers with respect; encourage others.
- Mentor/teach/share knowledge with less-experienced crewmembers.
- Complete assigned collateral duties.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; aviation-related education/training desired.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot – Airplane Multiengine Land Certificate (ATP).
- Type rating and prior pilot/command experience in aircraft operated by the company preferred.
- Previous flight experience in a corporate aviation department.
- Extensive international operations required.
- Flight instruction or teaching experience desirable.
- Valid FAA medical certificate.
