Role Summary

Senior Automation Maintenance Technician responsible for automation and maintenance related troubleshooting of equipment at the Irving, Texas site within a cross-functional Maintenance team. Primary equipment includes laser marking systems, VideoJet graphics printers, and conveyor systems. Focus on maintaining and repairing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, clean, troubleshoot and maintain all equipment on the Production Floor.
  • Perform advanced repair procedures of automated equipment.
  • Electrical wiring of equipment and hot stamping machines.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly preventive maintenance; laser beam alignment; VideoJet head setup and calibration.
  • Create and maintain files and drawings needed for Production, including setting up new layouts or adjusting existing layouts for proper marking.
  • Collaborate with Production personnel to keep machines running and minimize downtime.
  • Interact with the Production Manager, Shift Supervisors, Laser Operators, and Quality Control Inspectors to ensure production schedules are met.

Qualifications

  • Required Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Education:
    • AS degree in Electronics, Computer Science or related technical area
    • Vocational training in technical area
  • Required Experience:
    • Four (4)+ years of industrial automation and maintenance experience
    • Experience with electro-mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment
    • Advanced troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to read electrical schematics
    • Ability to identify and troubleshoot current or future equipment issues
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
    • Maintenance-oriented and task-motivated
    • Willing to accept responsibility for assigned projects
    • Intermediate or advanced PC skills (Windows, Excel, Access, networking)
    • Adherence to safety standards and regulations
    • Proficiency in English
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with laser marking systems
    • Experience with VideoJet Graphics Printing machines
    • Experience with Adept Robots and automation systems
    • Experience with AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop
    • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
