Senior Automation Engineer, High-Throughput Screening

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary support engineer for laboratory automation and instrumentation; set up, operate, and maintain high throughput screening (HTS) systems.
- Work with scientists to adapt biological assays from the bench to fully automated assays using HTS systems (Biosero Orchestrator and Green Button Go scheduling software highly desirable).
- Serve as project manager for small- and large-scale automation projects from start-up to completion.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve operational efficiency (throughput, delivery, costs) while considering health, safety, and environmental factors.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain a stable automation environment through QC and preventative maintenance.
- Assist in developing SOPs, maintenance manuals, start-up procedures, and train new equipment users.
- Self-motivated, able to multitask, manage timelines, and work independently and in teams.

Essential Requirements:
- B.S. in mechanical, electrical, or bioengineering (or similar).
- 3+ years experience servicing and implementing automated systems.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying automated laboratory workflows in life sciences or clinical laboratories.
- Strong organizational skills and written/verbal communication.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Requirements:
- Familiarity with Biosero Orchestrator / Green Button Go; HighRes BioSolutions (Staubli/Denso/Precise) / Cellario; CellTrio RoboCell; Beckman Echo; GNF Director; and lab benchtop equipment.
- Basic understanding of C# (or equivalent).
- Interest in evaluating/integrating/optimizing AI models and orchestration frameworks.
- Familiarity with Genedata Screener, Spotfire, and AI agents.
- Experience integrating automated systems with LIMS and other data systems for capture/transfer/traceability.
