Senior Associate Scientist, Chemistry

Job Responsibilities:
- Execute multi-step synthetic routes; optimize reaction conditions; isolate and characterize organic compounds (chromatography, NMR, MS, IR spectroscopy).
- Collaborate with scientists across diverse disciplines.
- Document research activities and present findings clearly.
- Execute experimental plans, troubleshoot synthetic challenges, and optimize lead compounds.

Education & Experience (Required):
- BS or MS in Chemistry with strong expertise in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry.
- 3+ years experience (BS) or 2+ years (MS) in a non-academic synthetic chemistry laboratory.

Skills & Qualifications (Required/Preferred):
- Strong small-molecule synthesis skills; lab techniques and safety knowledge; experience synthesizing peptides is a plus.
- Proficiency in synthesis, purification, troubleshooting, and characterization (e.g., LCMS, HPLC, NMR).
- Familiarity with ChemDraw, SciFinder, and Reaxys.
- Adaptable, self-motivated; strong interpersonal skills; effective in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills (lab notebook, reports, presentations).
- Uses AI tools to enhance productivity/quality.

Compensation & Benefits (as stated):
- San Diego, CA: $95,505–$115,730; additional incentive cash/stock may be available.
