Role Summary

Senior Associate Scientist or Scientist in Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, located in Kalamazoo, MI. This role provides analytical support for pharmaceutical active ingredients and drug products to aid in the development of innovative veterinary medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of analytical methods for characterization of drug substance and drug product.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as formulation, chemistry, safety sciences, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing groups.
  • Author, review, and archive technical documents, including test procedures, method validation plans, protocols, reports, stability data, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline, with 3+ years of industry experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Required: Master's degree (MS) in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Required: Experience in executing HPLC assays.
  • Required: Experience with Empower software.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental data, with a clear understanding of project objectives and priorities.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to identify and resolve technical challenges during experimentation.
  • Preferred: Strong commitment to safety, incorporating it into daily planning and laboratory activities.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in effectively communicating technical information, both orally and in writing, including clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Preferred: Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and across departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Preferred: Motivated and detail-oriented scientist with a technical background in analytical chemistry.
  • Preferred: Demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a commitment to fostering teamwork and collaboration.
