What You'll Do
Senior Associate Scientist focused on oligomer synthesis and characterization:
- Execute solid-phase oligomer and oligonucleotide synthesis using automated synthesis platforms (prepare reagents, set up synthesis cycles, incorporate standard and chemically modified amidites, perform on-bead or post-synthetic modifications as needed).
- Support synthesis of RNA-related constructs of varied lengths, formats, and chemical modifications.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot synthetic workflows to improve yield, purity, reproducibility, and process efficiency.
- Purify synthesized oligomers using chromatography (size-exclusion, anion-exchange, reverse-phase, ion-pair reverse-phase).
- Characterize materials using LC-MS, HPLC/UPLC, UV-Vis, and other orthogonal techniques.
- Analyze/interpret results, summarize findings, and recommend next steps for iterative chemistry design.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely experimental records.
- Support routine operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management for key instrumentation and supplies.
- Collaborate with chemists, biologists, analytical scientists, and project teams.

Let's Find Out If We're a Fit
- B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, biology, or related field required; M.S. preferred.
- Minimum 5 years (B.S.) / 3 years (M.S.) in relevant research, internship, or industry experience required.
- Preferred: hands-on solid-phase organic synthesis experience (oligonucleotide/peptide/oligomer/polymer/biopolymer workflows).
- Nice to have: automated synthesis platforms (MerMade, OligoSynt, or comparable); experience with SEC, AEX, RP-HPLC/RPIP-HPLC, and LC-MS.
