Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day laboratory activities for small-molecule syntheses, including compound isolation and characterization.
- Troubleshoot, analyze data, interpret results, and propose synthetic approaches to new targets.
- Discuss biological data and new targets to support structure-activity relationship (SAR) directions.
- Identify new strategies/technologies suited for synthetic execution of targets.
- Work within cross-functional and supervisor priorities to ensure progression of technology and pipeline projects.
- Participate in departmental/cross-functional meetings to contribute expertise.
- Interact collaboratively with other company groups.

Qualifications & Skills:
- M.Sc. in synthetic organic chemistry (or related).
- Familiarity with drug discovery processes and modern methods in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry.
- 5–7+ years of industry drug discovery experience with small molecules (required).
- Retrosynthetic analysis and synthetic route design experience.
- Hands-on execution of multistep synthetic protocols.
- Strong understanding of modern organic synthesis strategies and techniques; ability to work independently with a fit-for-purpose approach.
- Ability to interpret spectroscopic data for small-molecule structure assignment/confirmation (required).
- Plus: knowledge of latest synthetic methods for antibody-conjugate linker generation; familiarity with peptidomimetics or antibody-targeted therapeutics.
- Plus: general understanding of biological target validation and ADME/PK, PD/efficacy and medicinal chemistry’s role.
