Role Summary

Senior Associate Scientist, Oncology Research - In Vivo role focused on designing, executing, and interpreting in vivo experiments to evaluate efficacy and mechanisms of action of oncology drug candidates, contributing to RNAi therapeutic development in cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in investigative RNAi research evaluating siRNA delivery and efficacy to diverse oncology animal models.
  • Develop and perform in vivo and ex vivo studies using molecular and biochemical techniques to characterize distribution and activity of siRNAs.
  • Routine tasks include cancer cell line culture, in vivo efficacy, and PK/PD studies as well as processing harvested tissue for ex vivo analyses.
  • Analyze and interpret data and communicate results to the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to progress drug discovery efforts, contributing to a culture that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and transparency.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Animal/Veterinary Sciences, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience conducting in vivo pharmacology studies using mouse tumor models.
  • Expertise in mouse handling, dosing, subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor implantation, and tissue harvesting and collection.
  • Experience working with syngeneic and immune-compromised mice.
  • Direct experience monitoring tumor growth using IVIS or Lago and software analysis.
  • Proficiency in multiple dosing routes (IP, IV, SC, intratumoral) and blood collection (RO or submandibular).
  • Experience in tumor cell line tissue culture.
  • Stereotaxic procedures, intrathecal (IT), and intracerebroventricular (ICV) dosing in mice a plus.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques including RNA/DNA/protein extraction, qPCR, Western blot, ELISA a plus.
  • Basic understanding of standard cancer therapeutics and immuno-oncology a plus.
  • Experience using Prism, IVIS or Lago software analysis, and Excel.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, execute, analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Excellent lab technique and the ability to work independently.
  • Good documentation of all experimental procedures and results in an ELN.
  • Excellent communicator, team-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
