Role Responsibilities:
- Support or lead in vivo studies in rodent models of obesity, insulin resistance, and muscle dysfunction (compound dosing, tissue collection, metabolic phenotyping)
- Conduct follow-up analysis of metabolic tissues using qPCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and RNAScope
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot in vitro experiments in primary and immortalized adipocyte and myotube models (differentiation, stimulation, compound testing)
- Analyze and interpret data using appropriate statistical methods; communicate results in written reports and presentations
- Maintain electronic lab notebooks, SOPs, and assay documentation to ensure data integrity and reproducibility
Qualifications / Requirements:
- In vivo experience
- BS or MS in Cell Biology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or related discipline
- 3+ years of laboratory experience, preferably with mouse models
- Experience designing and executing metabolic studies in rodent obesity models, including indirect calorimetry, glucose and insulin tolerance testing, food intake assessment, and body composition
- Competence with data analysis/visualization tools (Excel, Prism, R, or Python) and strong understanding of experimental design and statistics
- Excellent presentation, time management, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tissue culture, western blotting, ELISA, and flow cytometry experience
- Histologic experience with metabolic tissues (liver, skeletal muscle, pancreas, brain)
