Main Responsibilities
- Support routine cell culture activities such as thawing, passaging, and banking cells.
- Engineer reporter gene cell lines to evaluate relative potency and mechanism of action for biologics (cloning/obtaining vectors, transducing cells, isolating monoclonal populations).
- Independently design experiments to develop cell-based potency methods for early and late phase projects.
- Manage work assignments, analyze and interpret test results, and troubleshoot under the manager’s supervision.
- Support sample testing for drug substance/drug product in potency assays using molecular and cell readouts (PCR, spectrophotometer, luminometer).
- Maintain good documentation practices using the electronic lab notebook.
- Maintain GMP compliance by following GMP procedures, supporting routine maintenance, and training on/drafting SOPs.
- Support training of additional operators and establishment of new methods/processes.
- Present work internally and externally at conferences.
Qualifications (Required)
- Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology/Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields with lab-based independent research/thesis project OR Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Technical background in cell culture (mammalian preferred).
- Experience in plate-based bioassays.
Preferred
- Experience in bioanalytical assay qualifications, SOP authoring, and working in a GMP or QC environment.
- Experience in cloning and cell line engineering.
