Role Summary

Senior Associate Scientist - ADC Chemistry. The ADC (Antibody Drug Conjugate) Chemistry team discovers and advances novel ADC linker and payload technologies for targeted cancer therapies. This is a lab-based role that will support novel ADC technology development. You will participate in research projects involving the design and synthesis of novel ADC payloads and linkers, and may coordinate or perform biological assays to understand linker, payload and ADC properties.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform multi-step syntheses of novel ADC payloads, linkers, and key intermediates.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize synthetic routes with minimal guidance, including modular routes for rapid analog generation and scalable routes for early-stage drug candidates.
  • Operate analytical instruments (HPLC, LC/MS, NMR) for structural determination and purity assessment.
  • Work effectively in independent and highly collaborative settings.
  • Analyze and accurately record data using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks.
  • Present results in written reports and oral presentations; participate in discussions.
  • Adhere to company safety, scientific record keeping, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in synthetic organic chemistry or related discipline or Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of industry synthetic organic chemistry experience.
  • Deep understanding of organic functional groups, reaction mechanisms and reactivity.
  • Experience using chemistry and literature/patent searching software to plan and execute synthetic strategies.
  • Experience as a synthetic organic chemist with multi-step synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds, especially using NMR and mass spectroscopy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and solving problems proactively.

Skills

  • Proficiency in designing and executing synthetic organic chemistry experiments.
  • Analytical proficiency with HPLC, LC/MS, and NMR techniques.
  • Data recording and interpretation in electronic lab notebook systems.

Education

  • As listed in Qualifications (Master’s or relevant Bachelor’s with experience).

Additional Requirements

  • Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending; ability to perform mathematical calculations and complex data analysis.
  • Relocation support available; on-premise work location.
