Role Overview
Assist in the design and execution of studies involving ELISA, CFU assays, viral titration assays, and mammalian cell culture to develop, license, and transfer vaccine processes. Collaborate with multi-functional teams across Process Development, Clinical Development, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to support Elancoโs biologics R&D portfolio (U.S. and international markets).
Responsibilities
- Apply scientific knowledge to drive timely progress of Technical Development projects.
- Independently execute experimental methods/protocols for bacterial counts, mammalian cell cultivation, virus titration assays, and quantitative/qualitative ELISAs; generate technical methods under guidance.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
- Train others under a lead scientist; educate self and others on complex issues.
- Propose initial data interpretations and suggest next steps.
- Demonstrate flexibility and learning agility in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioprocessing) or equivalent education/experience.
- Laboratory experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency with micropipetting and basic lab instrumentation.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no anticipated visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN).
Preferred Qualifications
- Protein concentration/purification experience.
- Experience with biohazardous organisms.
- Previous animal health product development experience.
- Familiarity with USDA regulatory requirements.
